I Choose Jesus

Aidara was quietly seeking God. But the Muslim influence in her village was so strong she stood on the threshold of becoming one of the mysterious, darkly veiled women of Senegal. A Christian friend, a church planter supplied with Scriptures by Bible League International, sought out Aidara to share the Gospel.

The courageous church planter boldly read the Scriptures to Aidara and then gave her a very special gift - her very own Bible. Aidara was thrilled!

However Aidara’s meetings with her Christian friend did not go unnoticed. Many of the villagers were enraged. When Aidara’s parents discovered she had been studying the Bible, her father threatened to kill her with a machete. So angry was her Muslim family, they went to the nearby witch doctor to enlist his help in ending her life.

Terrified and confused, Aidara reluctantly continued on her path of Islam. But the Lord intervened. The day before Aidara was to meet with the Imam to make a commitment to becoming veiled, God sent her a vision so spectacular that she never went to her ceremony at the mosque. Instead, Aidara went straight to her friend, the church planter.

Aidara dreamed that she was in the mosque and the Imam was handing out verses from the Koran to those who were present. When it was her turn, the Imam moved away from her without giving her a verse. He said she was no longer a part of their community.

Aidara did not understand the vision. “I explained to her that the Lord Jesus was in this vision, and
she needed Him, not Allah,” recalls the church planter. That very morning, Aidara shed her Muslim past and asked Jesus to become her Lord and Saviour.

Today, Aidara publicly states that the truth lies in the Bible and that Jesus alone saves. “She will not give up her faith in Jesus Christ,” says her friend.

As you provide God’s Word through Bible League International, people like Aidara through the power of the Holy Spirit are breaking free from the Muslim faith and are coming to Jesus.
