Ready Set Go!

Kelly Tams, Junior Campus Sports Coordinator, reports on the recent Elim Christian College Run4Bibles event

Every year, all over New Zealand cross country events are held in schools with the main focus being on participation and winning.  This year at Elim Christian College, our Junior Campus chose to combine their cross country event with Run4Bibles to make it more meaningful by fundraising for a fantastic cause.

Our Run4Bibles cross country event was held on Friday 10th August with 457 students participating from years 0 through to year 8 running distances of between 500m and 3.1km.  What was so exciting is how the students bought into the Run4Bibles concept.  God had undoubtedly been working in our students hearts, because the event became more than just running a race, but about raising money for Bibles.  I know of one student who emptied his wallet of his own hard earned pocket money and gave it all to Run4Bibles.  Another student alone raised over $200.00.  As the money kept coming in the daily figure kept astounding us.  In the end our wonderfully enthusiastic students raised an unbelievable $5,400.00.

God be praised over and over for such a wonderful result!

Why not make the next cross country event at your local school really worthwhile.  To find out more about Run4Bibles call us on 1800 800 937 (Australia) or 0800 242 537 (New Zealand)

Bibles for the Persecuted Church

Bibles for the Persecuted Church this year involves Passport with no boundaries  which encourages Christians to pray and provide Bibles for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering for their faith in Jesus. These suffering believers simply plead; “Pray for us and please send Bibles.”

The program is run over 3 weeks, mainly in October, but can be run anytime to suit church calendars. Church members are encouraged to join with other individuals, families, Bible study groups, youth groups within their church community to pray and put aside $2 per day for Bibles for persecuted believers.

Bible League provides a free kit to churches including the 21-day devotional booklet, Passport with no boundaries, Bible money boxes, step-by-step instructions, bulletin inserts, a poster, as well as DVD presentations. To learn more view Bibles for the Persecuted Church

Taking part in the program will help each church member identify with persecuted Christians and personally provide encouragement to persecuted believers through the provision of prayer and Bibles.

Also pray for us. Pray that God will give us an opportunity to tell people his message. I am in prison for doing this. But pray that we can continue to tell people the secret truth that God has made known about Christ. Colossians 4:3 (ERV).

We thank God that people are turning to Christ, even in the midst of persecution—but millions still need a Bible.

Sue loves the ministry of Bible League and this year choose Bibles for the Persecuted Church program.  She enjoyed this program so much that she has asked for another money box after filling her first one.  The money box sits on her kitchen bench to remind Sue to pray and give regularly. Go Sue.

Will you join with many others like Sue and respond to our brothers and sister's cry and provide them through Passport with no boundaries the prayer and Bibles they so desperately need?

When Facing Death...God filled my mind

Bible League is passionate about providing God's Word, especially when we hear so many wonderful testimonies of what happens when God's Word is planted to change the world.

With a pistol pointed at his head, Eduardo knew he was about to be executed. "I closed my eyes and cried out to God to save me. In that moment of facing death it was God that filled my mind."

Man praises in his local church where villages are living in darkness, but he and his family experience religious freedom after their bible training and long to be baptized.
Miraculously Eduardo was saved from execution, but he spent a year behind bars, but the time was not wasted. Eduardo says, "The Lord blessed my personal evangelism. In one year, 90 came to Christ. Three times a week I organized Bible studies.

Three prisoners on their release became missionaries in the Philippines." When Eduardo's trial date was finally set, he was again released due to lack of evidence.

Today, Eduardo is a Christian resourced by Bible League International and is serving the Lord as a free man. He is carrying out the Great Commission. He is leading people in Bible study. God is using him to help others come into the light.

Bible League International is blessed by the many people who support our ministry to provide Bibles and Scripture materials for the local church and other partners for them to use in their ministry of helping people like Eduardo meet Jesus Christ.
