Qlympic Outreach

Viewers worldwide had the opportunity to watch the 2012 Olympics over two exciting weeks. But many Arabic speakers in attendance at the London games had an even more incredible opportunity that could last forever – the opportunity to receive God’s Word and a library of additional Biblical materials – all in Arabic and all on a tiny mircoSD card.

With the help of local London Christians and visiting Middle Eastern Christians dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus, Bible League International was able to impact thousands of lives through this unique and exciting opportunity.

Digital Bible Libraries provide access to the Bible and Bible resources through smartphones, tablets or computers. Using small and powerful devices like mircoSD cards, is concealable, secure, and a revolutionary way to reach people with God’s Word.

A Gold Medal Outreach

The efforts of the local volunteers went beyond London, as volunteers traveled as far as Cardiff and Manchester, where the United Arab Emirates played an Olympic soccer match. Four hundred mircoSD chips were handed out at this soccer match alone to people interested in learning more about Jesus Christ. Some were even placed with the team managers!

Though the experience was challenging, the volunteers felt invigorated to hear and see that the new digital libraries were making a huge impact. The feedback was immediate and positive!

Stories from the Christian Volunteers

Rena, an Arabic-speaking Christian from London and faithful prayer warrior, expressed a deep gratitude for the Arabic Digital Bible Library. Along with other volunteers from a local Christian Arabic center, Rena spent the last year praying for the digital distribution of the Arabic Bible that happened at her front door in London. “Arabic-speaking Christians have been looking for a resource to take into closed countries without fear of it getting confiscated,” she said. “When prayers go up, blessings come down. What we lacked, God provided.”

One volunteer worker commented, “It is awkward standing out in the middle of Hyde Park in the rain handing out material that you can’t read, to people you don’t know, and trying to talk to them about Jesus in what little English they may have. But it is an amazing experience, and a great many other things. Eye-opening, and a blessing!” The desire for God cannot be kept out, even amidst the energy and excitement of the Olympic Games!

George, a Christ-filled, energetic Egyptian, used his gifts to bless many lives as he spoke about God – and whose preaching often draws a crowd. "I don't just love Jesus,” George proclaims, “I adore him!”  George passed on his passion for the Bible through the Digital Bible Libraries. “People’s lives will be changed by this opportunity, through God’s grace.”

From Darkness to Light - India

It is a hand to mouth existence for many living in poor rural villages of India. With poverty comes poor literacy skills and ultimately despair. The heart cry of those trying to make a living under such oppressive conditions is the same – Where do I find hope? Where is the solution to my misery?

Through local churches Bible League’s literacy programs are having a dramatic impact on countless lives. The Easy-to-Read (ERV) Bible is used as the primary text in teaching literacy skills. Through the program many have had their spiritual eyes opened for the first time to the truth of God’s Word and have come to faith in Jesus. Aardhi’s story powerfully demonstrates how lives are being transformed through these literacy programs.

"Before I could not even write my own name, now I can write my name, I can read and this has given me confidence. Now my in-laws look up to me. When they go to the market they say, ‘Let’s bring Aardhi because she can read.’ Before literacy my family was in darkness, now because I can read and write, my family is in light. We have experienced the light and that is the light of Jesus Christ."

Will you help others in India like Aardhi find real hope and a better future through Bible League’s Bible based literacy programs?
Using ERV Bibles and study resources in the heart language of the local people, it costs just $2,000 to fully fund a literacy centre for a 12 month period. With an average attendance of 40 students per centre, imagine the dramatic impact that the relatively small investment of $50 will have on the life of each student both materially and spiritually. (view Aardhi's story )

We invite you to join with us as together we bring hope and the light of the Gospel to poor rural villages across India.

Ponder Moment

“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth…” John 16:13 (NIV)

The most important person on any expedition is the guide/leader.  No matter what else you do or don’t have, if you don’t know where you’re headed, your journey will inevitably end in disaster.  Imagine living life with no clue as to what’s coming, with your only guide being people who have about as much idea as you do of the future.  Doesn’t sound very attractive does it?

The Holy Spirit was given to us so that we may have a sure guide through life; this is why we at Bible League are passionate about planting God’s Word because we know that this is the sure guide people need in order to change their worlds.  The only reason people stumble in life is because either they have never heard the message or they have not heeded the message.

Listen to the Spirit of truth today and experience the blessing of walking in His Light.
