Partnering in Melbourne

In August, Tony McLennan, our CEO, was busy visiting churches in the Melbourne, Melton and Geelong area to help pastors and congregations gain a better idea of what Bible League is currently doing and how Bible League can partner with them to Plant God’s Word in order to change the World.

Brighton Church of Christ, a long standing supporter of Bible League, hosted Tony for the Sunday morning service. Pastor Danny Parsons, senior minister, spoke of Brighton Church of Christ’s commitment to reach their community for the Gospel. Tony shared on Matthew 4:19, “Come, follow Me, Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” After the service their was a very positive level of interest at the Bible League display stand with a number of people wanting to help promote Bibles for missions.

Tony’s visit also included visits to donors in the Melbourne area and he said: “It’s just amazing the generosity of God’s people. Every donor is a confirmation of God watching over His Word to perform it.”

A visit to Mount Evelyn Christian Reformed Church laid the foundation for future ministry sessions as also did meetings with Heathmont Presbyterian, Aberfeldie Baptist and Williamstown Community Church.

It was also heartening to meet with long term supporters of Bible League, Mt Evelyn Christian School and Glenroy Presbyterian Church and the Reformed Presbyterian Church in downtown Geelong.

Many new connections were made as Tony visited Rev Greg Allinson of St Mark’s Camberwell and Pastor Richard Doherty of Melton Assemblies of God.

Since that time offers to have Bible League speakers in the Melbourne area have been forthcoming and we are now planning a Business Breakfast in the area in November 12.
