Project Philip Changes Communities

Bible League International are blessed continually with testimonies that encourage us to continue the ministry of distributing Bibles and Scripture resources through local churches and partners to assist them in their ministries of helping people meet Jesus Christ.

Here is a snippet of some wonderful testimonies where lives and communities have been changed and God glorified through the Project Philip ministry:

Students Studying
Pastor Mahindra Das, a poor shoe repairman in the Hugli District of West Bengal, came to faith in Christ Jesus from a Hindu background. Trained as a Philip or Bible study leader, Bible League regularly provided him with Project Philip materials, New Testaments, and Bibles. Today, he leads a church and has eight assistant pastors, each of whom came to Christ through Project Philip. As a team, they have planted 9 new churches, led more than 850 people to faith in Lord Jesus Christ, and baptised 375 new believers.

Pastor Darío López (the National Bishop of the Iglesia de Dios del Perú [God´s Church of Perú]) decided that Project Philip for Children should not only be focused on children, but on their parents, as well. According to Pastor López, this decision has led to stronger families, greater unity, increased commitment to childcare, and the recognition of God’s grace in their lives.

The Faenera Church is a group of Christian brothers from different denominations who come to work at mine sites within the Cordillera
of northern Chile. They gather together with their bosses’ approval to conduct and celebrate Christian meetings on the work site. They also share the Word of God with co-workers, using Project Philip material to evangelize and disciple them.

Rev Shadrach Molosiwa, Bible League’s Southern Africa Regional Operations Director  recently shared  "We are looking at about a need of 60,000 Bibles to start with – and that is a drop in the ocean. We need to run the Project Philip project because the leaders and the people in the church have to go through the Bible study lessons to understand it to be engaged.  More Bibles could be used if they will come, but the minimum is copies 60,000 to start moving forward."

Project Philip is inspired by Acts 8:26-38 where Bibles and evangelical and discipling Bible study materials are provided by Bible League in many languages in a culturally appropriate formatScripture-focused Project Philip materials equip ordinary Christians to help others meet Jesus. Bible League International also provides churches with the Bibles they need in their church planting efforts to make sure the new churches they establish are firmly grounded in God’s Word.
